Hey peeps... Really sorry for the lack of postage on this blog during July... I'm working full time during the week from 10am til 7pm... and as soon as I get home I just want to chill most days. Will be getting some posts scheduled up on the weekend and getting the blog back to business very soon.
Until then I was wondering if you'd be able to do me a small favour. I've entered a competition on Mixcloud to win a copy of Ableton Live Suite and Serato 2.0, the competition closes tonight and the top 10 entries get judged, and I'm really in with a great shout of winning, so I'd love some support. Basically just follow the link to my mix or stream the mix on this page to get my play count up.
Also let us know what you think of the mix :)... Thanks much in advance!

Howdy... June mix from me... had some awesome support from everyone on the with my last mix that helped me win the Braindrop Mixcloud comp... cheers... here's my latest offering, hope you enjoy!
Went in a slightly different direction with this one... focusing on a lot more UK Funky and some top Bass tunes. Less of the bangers and more of the Funk for this one... lots of summer tunes.
If you're feeling any of the tunes then please support the artists in the best way possible by buying them from a respectable retailer. I really recommend Supra1's 'Ghoster' and the GreenMoney remix of 'Josephine', beautiful.
You can nab it below via Mediafire or stream it via Mixcloud. Enjoy!

So late last month was the first anniversary of the first post on Squeaky Bleeps. It's somewhat of a milestone that we certainly wanted to celebrate with a more meaningful post than just necessarily music for masses.
We met up at Ben's house in North London to record an exclusive podcast for our fantastic readers. Sometimes when you post on a blog, it's hard to see how your writing or views are received, but over the past 12 months, every now and again I have had some great feedback from friends, DJs, Producers and general music fans from across the world. So thank you to anyone who has ever listened to, read, commented, downloaded or sent in any material to us. We may not always reply to messages we're sent, just due to the fact that I'm doing my third year of university and sometimes we've slacked a little bit with posting, but we've always listened to everything we've received. Even if it wasn't something we felt was music we liked personally, everything has helped to broaden our horizons and post up material and comment that we feel can take this blog to the next level.
First off we each played a few tracks from the last year that we've either posted up on the blog or have felt a special mention is needed, then towards the end of the podcast (just over an hour in length) we both have a wee play on the decks and play some more current sounds that we're feeling at the moment. Possibly some hic ups along the way, considering I play off timecode vinyl with Traktor and Ben was also playing some vinyl and CDs... it got interesting, but was nethertheless a good laugh, and great to meet up and share some stories and banter.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it... the tracklisting is posted below, and I've also uploaded it to Mediafire if you wish to have a listen or download it.
Cheers for a great first year, much more to come this year!

Now some people might say that #13 is unlucky, but I see that very differently, because today I'm presenting you with my own mix for April. Featuring a few exclusive tracks and my own picks for tracks I think are really gunning it at the moment.
It's the second in my Future of Funk mix series, you can catch the first in the series from both Soundcloud and Mixcloud if you're feeling the first one.
As usual I take things on quite an upbeat and full on approach and then towards the end tone things down... firstly working with some new bass, then onto a more housey tip, before playing some dubstep that I'm feeling at the moment, that isn't necessarily 'wobbly', but that has an edge about it.
I've been constantly trying to get away from the wobbly and 'filthy' infested side of dubstep for a few months now, and I think the tunes I've included go some way towards that. I wouldn't have included Spanish Fly for example, had it not had some cheeky salsa-erish edge to it :).
I love odd ball tunes, and anything with a tropical kind of feel to it, gets my vote every time.
I've uploaded the mix to Mixcloud, Soundcloud and Mediafire to cater for people's personal preferences... the main link highlighted in blue takes you to the mediafire download page and then I've embedded the other links, should you wish to go to them. Please give it a listen and most importantly, enjoy :).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it... I've also done up some wee artwork for it as you can see above, as I hate posting up pictures of myself.
Although I'm trying to promote myself here, it's not just about me and my mixing, it's most importantly about the music... As is shown below in the video I've embedded of Hard House Banton's The Music, as a wee in joke I have with most friends who refer to me as, The Music Man.

To hear a few of these tracks as well as many more in the mix, check out a live mix from my last set at Brighton's Aka Aka Roar - warming up for heavyweight producers/DJs Untold & Shortstuff:
Kicking off this week with the relaunch of the highly renowned Squeaky Bleeps 'Mix Monday' feature (coz not every other single blog posts up mix features with some sort of witty alliterative title. And our title isn't even really witty, just alliterative).
First up we have a mix from renowned dubstep, 2step and everything in between DJ, Oneman. Oneman has reached some fairly lofty heights in the world of 2/dub-step DJing without ever producing a single beat - fairly impressive considering how production-centric that world is. He was the only DJ on Mary Anne Hobbs Generation Bass show not to produce, has a show on Rinse FM and needless to say is pretty neat on the 1s and 2s. If you're a Brighton local, or even South Coast local, then make sure you reach to new night Aka Aka Roar. All the lineups are heavy, but Oneman's headline set on Monday 18th January will be something truly special if this mix is anything to go by. This new mix from him has some cracking tunes in it too - I heard that Boogaloo Crew tune played by them on Friday, and it really goes off in a club - a lovely 2stepping beat and great lush sweeping synths. New material in the mix comes from Joy Orbison (She Dressed In Her Best has to be the best tune yet from JO?), Terror Danjah (Air Bubble is the slightly more melodic, but still truly deep tune from TD's upcoming Butterz release), Brackles & Shortstuff as well as Mumdance. Anyway, nuff chat bout the mix, tracklist follows with a direct download link here.
and the Mixcloud player for the mix below too if streaming is more your thing.
Bad Autopsy - Mag
Hard House Banton - Reign
Efdemin - Acid Bells (Martyn's Dark Mix)

Swindle - Airmiles
The Boogaloo Crew - Rising Sun
Lil Wayne - A Milli (Harmonimix)
Kelis & Andre 3000 - Millionaire
Next up is a local boy done good - Jared Philippo aka ADHDJs is also pretty tidy on the 1s and 2s, bringing his own brand of heavily dub and reggae infused dubstep to venues like Fabric, Corsica Studios, Roundhouse and many more. For this mix though he's gone on a bit of a nostalgic tip, recalling the heady days of 2step ruling clubland! The mix (Drink & My 2step) touches on everything that was good bout that scene - Todd The God Edwards, Wookie, MJ Cole, Zinc + everything else in between. Mixing is very tight, and tunes are big, make sure you get on this! If you're feeling the mix, check out Jared's other mixes at his Podcast and get some more info bout this gee at his Twitter.

New mix by me here... and an amazingly flattering picture of myself. All of my current fav tunes in the electro/techno/house scene... please have a listen!!!
I've left out the majority of the wobbles I normally play and focussed on some quality electro/techno with a lot of bite. It's not really easy listening by any means and there's a lot of new tunes in there, but I hope you enjoy.

So it's that time of the month again, where me and Ben try and invade you're perceptions of what you might think is good, by telling you what we think is good, and are there some great tunes coming out at moment. I really suggest grabbing a listen of Mumdance's new remix featured in Ben's chart. A right peach of a tune!
Also get locked onto Emalkay's tune, soon out on Caspa's Dub Police syndicate as a 12", which has been tearing up the club scene of late... I had to pleasure of being in the booth with Caspa last week when he dropped it at Under The Radar's recent 16+ party at Ministry of Sound... shit when downnn boi!
A nice juice of tunes to get you're heads around... lots of vibe in all of these tracks. 2009 may have been branded as the year of the weird and the year of the piano... but it's most definitely a year with big vibes!

Hey all... got a very special treat for you all here. My first mix under my new name Vesper, which is aimed at launching me to the next level of DJing in London clubs and, hopefully beyond!
I've been working on it for the past couple of weeks, and I'm about as happy as I can be with it, even if it did take me 5 days just to decide on an ending! It's quite a long one, clocking in at almost an hour and 3/4, but trust me it's very worth it!
I definitely think I've taken a huge leap forward with my mixing talent and style, that I want to use to help get my name out there! It's basically a big mash-up of the freshest sounds that I'm digging right now, spanning House, Techno, Electro and Dubstep.
Please pass this mix around to as many people as possible, and by all means pass it onto people who run nights and all that shiz, if you know anyone who runs one :). To book me to play a set, anytime, anywhere in the UK, just give me a shout at my new email: VesperDJ@googlemail.com
Hope you enjoy it... any feedback is as always very much appreciated!
Please get in touch with content, or if you'd like something removed...

If anyone has ever wondered what the email refers to... Aphetic is a latin word, which means To Let Go... We feel this is the mindset all should adopt when listening to new music.
