ITS GOING DOWN!!!!!

So its Sunday afternoon and I'm just browsing the blogs as usual when I realised I hadn't downloaded the first installment in Palms Out Sound's Sounds of Summer series, which went live this week. They're a series of mixes, much like the mix series, that they introduced a while back featuring mainly mixes from all the contributers, my favourite being from Urchins.
The first entry was mixed by up and coming UK Producer Foamo, who was responsible for one of last year's biggest club tunes Everything Cool, and after a few calmer electro-housey numbers, the past few months has see him tackle a much darker side to his charasmatic jackin' bass sound. This mixtape is no exception, if you're looking for an hour of pure filth to get you in the mood for the biggest raving summer of your life, then look no further!

One tune that's really caught my eye is his collaboration with Ministry of Sound resident Lee Mortimer titled It's Going Down, which samples vocals from Noisia's Block Control, one of my favourite DnB releases to date. It's a mashup of everything great about the new house scene and the side of dubstep that really appeals to me.

However, things really start of get kicking at around 25 minutes with the man's remix of Franz Ferdinand, A1 Bassline's remix of Frankmusik and Jack Beats' ridiculous remix of Get Off by Diplo & Blqstarr, which is killing it in the clubs right now. Following this little ravey warm up is Supra1's makeover of Blackfinger's Up Middle Finger, before unleashing into downright lunacy with Foamo's own remix of Laidback Luke's Hey! (which quite frankly is absolutely disgusting), Detboi's Whine Ya Body, Kevstar Latin's take on Divine Gosa. At this point there are goosebumps all over my arms and I'm jumping around my bedroom.
Things are about to get even better though with a sublime transition into Mumdance's brilliant take on Trash (my favourite track by The Whip), Mowgli's Sequencer, the ever popular Church of Nonsence and then Spraycan to wind you down a slight gear into the end of the mix, with Zinc's Blunt Edge and Felix Da Housecat's Kickdrum.

I am telling you, mark my words by the end of this summer, with a residency @ Space in Ibiza on his resume, Foamo will launch himself into the DJ Super League! This mix is immense, and the track selection, sublime... do not miss this!
